When it comes to those vent clip dash mounts... Over the years I have tried a dozen of them and they just don't work for long. After a few days your phone, along with the clip winds up on the floor while you are driving somewhere. To fit the clip is just too thin to get a good grip. It's about physics not bad clips. Likewise a sticky dash mount will work pretty good until it gets summer heat that softens the sticky glue. My best has been the windshield glass mount with an arm long enough to bring the phone close at eye level. Even the suction cup only lasts about 3 years until the hot sun causes it to lose its grip.(Arizona sun). I have tried the vent mounts on Chevy, Dodge, Ford and Toyota all with the same results.

I've had the same experience with on-dash and windshield mounts... seems like they eventually come loose, as you've noted. FWIW, this one isn't a "pincer grip"... it actually has a hook that grabs onto the vent from the back. I haven't done long-term testing but for the moment it seems very secure.

Many years of "thank you" Rick. Today it's for John Boyne who you recommended a while back and for Fantastic Fiction which I have added to my favorites.

Hi Rick, long time cheapskate. One of our cars has round vents and my wife's phone is a Samsung Z Flip 4 that uses wireless charging. How about some love for us round-vented non-iphone users that need a car mount!

While I am sure that drone is a hum dinger. $350 for the device alone or $400 for the combo is way out of my budget. Also those vent clips fry my phone in the winter time.

Hi, Michael... there should be a 20%-off coupon you can clip on the product page. Then, when you get to checkout, apply the promo code.
