I had the Echo Show 5 for a while and then the screen started to flicker. I thought about getting the Show 8 but then, I found an even better option. Woot has the refurbished Echo Show with the 10.1" display for $69.99. Yes, it's refurbished and only has a 90 day warranty but I think it's a great alternative to getting the Show 8.
I've had mine for almost a year now and it's going great, no regrets on that purchase.
