I couldn't agree with you more about Adam Sandler not being funny. To me. Curious about your opinion on "50 first dates" with Drew Barrymore? Another movie where he's much less the "comedic" personality and his natural acting skills show through well. Paired with Drew, and a brilliant rom(mostly)-com, it's one of my favorites.
I almost posted exactly this - 50 First Dates is brilliant, even with Adam Sandler, highly recommended, and I'm no Sandler fan, or Drew for that matter. It has a depth that sneaks up on you.
Never saw it. I steadfastly avoid all Sandler movies. I did watch Uncut Gems; it was also surprisingly good, though I think other actors could have filled these roles just as well, if not better.
TV suggestion: Will Trent it's on ABC Tuesdays at 10 pm. He's a special agent in the Georgia Bureau of Investigation who has a unique way of solving crimes. He's a bit like Monk but with a different disorder. I liked it so much I started reading Karin Slaughter's Will Trent books. If you can watch the first episode I can almost guarantee you'll be caught!
Book recommendation: Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin. Great story built around some young video game developers in the classic PC era 20 years ago. Enjoying it on Libby now for free.
Thanks! It's on my list... I actually grabbed the audiobook during an Audible promotion but haven't had the chance to listen. (My commute is only down a flight of stairs, lol.)
To be clear, a Dairy Queen Blizzard can't be called ice cream because of the milk fat content. The FDA says ice cream must have at least 10% milk fat. A DQ Blizzard has 5% milk fat. I'm not saying there aren't additional additives put in, which you would likely find in a number of ice cream brands including Culver's if you look at their ingredient list. I'm merely pointing out it's disingenuous to say it's not ice cream because it's some sort of "chemical concoction." It's not classified as ice cream because of a technical rule at the FDA regarding milk fat.
Fair points... mostly I was just dumping on DQ because I don't like it... ESPECIALLY their so-called "cakes," lol. And FWIW the 85-cent deal isn't even showing up in my app, days after installing.
Stay on Twitter! The people that are quitting Twitter are mad that they can't control its extreme liberal bias. When the BBC interviewed Elon Musk the reporter couldn't give one example of hate speech that he claimed was rampant. Every media outlet has posted misinformation at some point. So, who is going to judge the information on Twitter?
Did you read the entire interview? Frankly I was impressed with the CEO's responses to what seemed like a lot of unprofessional, bait-y questions from the interviewer.

I gave up on Twitter when Elon bought it and said he was letting Donnie back in!
