Threatening to terminate a subscription, even if you don't really want to, may net you a discount. I just scored one myself. PLUS: Free movie tickets for Prime subscribers!

--- Ohhhh, yeah. 👍. Several times we went to cancel either the car or home Sirius, and the longer we stayed on the phone, the more desperate and cheap the offers came! Like fractions of the originals. It was a good deal when we did it!

For those like me that didn't sign up quick enough for the Prime Premiere of A Million Miles Away (or don't have a screening nearby or don't have Prime or don't want to go to a theater), there is a free showing on aarp.org tomorrow night, 9/13 7:00pm CT ( https://watch.aarp.org/aarpmfg ). You do not need to be a paid member, just a registered user of the AARP website. You can then join the livestream tomorrow (and cast it to your TV) or use the Eventive TV app on Roku, Fire, and maybe other streamers/Smart TVs.

Rick: Always love your newsletters. I do want to tell you that I purchased the Microsoft Office Professional 2021 Lifetime License for $29.97 on Stacksocial. The download and install went well but they added a $2.99 "handling" fee. So, on top of sales tax, the total cost was $35.30. Now, $35.30 is still a good value but you might want to advise readers about the $2.99 "handling" fee.
Huh... didn't know about that but I'm seeing it as well. I tried a different item (priced at $24.99) and the handling fee was $1.99. This seems like a little b.s. on StackSocial's part, but even with that it's an amazing deal. That said, I'll see if I can get some explanation on this...
John Belushi to Carrie Fisher in _The Blues Brothers_.
My family hates it that every long trip in the car has to start with: It's 106 miles to Chicago, we've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark, and we're wearing sunglasses.
I regularly do this with Starz. I don't watch much on the service, but $3 per month for commercial free movies and shows is a deal even if you only watch it a couple times.
Yep, I've gotten "please don't cancel" or "come back" deals for Kindle Unlimited (though that was a while ago), Paramount Plus (recently), and the NY TImes (repeatedly). In addition to cash back services, also check your credit card's "Special Offers". I've also taken advantage of promotional discounts to add a streaming service for a month or three as a "channel" to Amazon Prime Video.
For those who still subscribe to newspapers or magazines, threatening to cancel works well. WSJ, NY Times and any of the Gannett local papers all offer digital subscriptions for around $1 a week if you threaten to leave.
Awww Rick, you just told the world about my own private secret!
Sometimes you need to follow through and not bluff, but most of the time a company will offer a great renewal price, especially Sirius, but you may go without for a month or two.
I'm actually not sure if that one is battery-powered or not. A lot of these listings don't seem to mention the battery, but the products are all very similar and most of them have it.
That said, here’s one that definitely does, and it’s even a little cheaper (with promo code)…
That was EASY. Blues Brothers!
If you know, you know.... 😜
hmmm i should have known that.

Awesome! I didn't know there were streamer apps for the AARP movies. Once again, Deal Secrets readers are smarter than me!

Love the Blues Brothers reference!
Just ordered the six pack of emergency LEDs. Shipping was $8.99 but still worth it.

BTW, your NBC peacock deal from last year renews about now. Suggestions??
Exactly your method: Cancel and wait for the next deal to come around, lol...
Hi Rick, I do want a portable air pump but the one you linked takes me to a car powered version not battery - do you have another link by any chance?

The Blues Brothers! Now I want to watch it again ...
Haha... same! Too bad it's not on any of the streamers... have to rent it.
I bought that DVD years ago for just such an emergency
