Have you considered starting a "Tales From the Cheapskate" blog? Enticing, mysterious, humorous, thrilling, and the possibility of a monetary benefit for the reader! You may have invented a new genre!
Thanks for this, my Netflix was apparently an "account" that this company used to join as a family for someone, I had to jump through a ton of hoops to get them removed since they tried to change my email. So definitely buyers beware on both sides of this if you are trying to save some money.
Whoa... Just curious, how did you determine that Bundler was using your Netflix account? Yeesh, now I'm starting to wonder if they're using stolen accounts all around... 😶
Yeah, if it walks like a fish, and it talks like a fish, it’s probably fishy.
I had a similar “family” deal with a Spotify account a few years ago. Bought a “lifetime” subscription on eBay. It worked for a week or so and then died. One contact to seller refreshed it, then they were thrown off eBay and my “lifetime” payment was in dispute!
Theoretically, if the respective services discover and decide to go after this, they could track back the individual users based on the IP addresses connecting to the services using those accounts.
Whether the services would really go after the individual users or not, who knows?
Yeah I would worry about them tracking the IP address. This is the perfect case for using a Privacy.com card or if CC companies still do anonymous one-time-use cards.
I remember thinking the same thing about "Limewire" after Napster and this rings the same tune.... But if it worked for like months, I could probably get my $$'s worth! lmao!
howdy rick! LTNS! Thanks for going below snorkel depth on this wild Bundler thing. It beats hell outta 95% of most of my email! Feel free to inform about ANYTHING deal related that catches your eye. Many of us trust your internet bargain bin instincts and knack for sussing out entertaining consumerist storylines. You might could even shop this one to Pro Publica. Maybe they could reveal the whole Bundchilada! Be well, mate!
I'm going to wait for your next report. ESPN+ is now the main station for most of BIG 12 sports so I was look to subscribe this fall, and at $11 monthly it is a no brainer to get all the others for $4!
Reminds me of similar cable-replacement streaming options out there. For only $15/mo you can get all channels, even movie channels and local news from all over the country. They usually go by names like 'Acme Streamz'. They work for a bit, but continually have problems and are making changes to keep it running. Turns into a lot of hassle.
BTW I loved Moviepass. We used it for a while, and worked great. Not surprised it was not sustainable either.
Thanks for such a thorough explanation of this “great” service. I’m not willing to utilize Bundler as I don’t have your tech skills to undo anything it might do to my computer!
Well, for what it's worth, your computer has zero involvement in this (except for the signing-up part). :) But, yes, I'd advise people to steer clear for the moment... let me see what transpires over the coming weeks.
I see you have a Lotta spare time in your retirement from C Net. Thank you for your work is greatly appreciate it. We need to move out of Michigan. Come to Florida there’s more things to do you won’t be so bored.
This site has more red flags than a Chinese military parade
😂😂😂

Even if it is legit (which I highly doubt), services like this that scam companies just end up causing price increases for the rest of us.
Hard pass.

Fascinating. No way it lasts.

Rick, I’ve followed you for YEARS, but I don’t know about this one. I’m a firm believer of “if it’s too good to be true…

Just because you can doesn't mean you should. I'm curious about the payment information for Sonny. was it his or someone else's
