Welcome to Deal Secrets Weekend Edition! Now, instead of interrupting your busy workweek, I’ll glide into your inbox while you’re enjoying a relaxing coffee, giving you plenty of time to pore over each carefully crafted word, maybe discuss your favorite deals with a significant other, think about friends and family you haven’t connected with in a while — “You know who’d like this newsletter? Uncle Bob” — and consider some other joy snacks for your day.
(Yes, I just called this a joy snack. It’s no babbling brook, but hopefully it brings you a soupçon of happiness.)
Let’s kick things off with some quick hits!
✉️ Calling all Mac users! Microsoft Outlook is now free. Previously you needed an Office 365 subscription or other paid license. I’m not sure it’s something a lot of Mac users really need, as the native Mac Mail app is pretty good, but I’ll cop to liking the Windows version for managing multiple email accounts. Indeed, I’ve never found a mail client I like better.
⚡ Speaking of Apple products, have you hit the iPhone/AirPods/Apple Watch trifecta? Then you should have this 3-in-1 charging station, be it for home or travel. It drops to $22.99 when you apply promo code L2XL5G7B at checkout. It can wirelessly charge all three devices simultaneously, and it comes with a QuickCharge AC adapter (something that’s not always included with charging docks). I just bought something similar; works great, never again leaving home without it.
📷 Regular readers know of my love for digital picture frames, and this is one of the best deals I’ve ever seen for a really big one: Grab the Benibela 16.2-inch digital frame for just $110 with promo code BNEL776P. In my initial tests, I found the screen bright, sharp, and colorful, but the motion sensor didn’t work quite right and the companion app is a little flaky. That said, it’s quite good overall, especially for this price. And it may seem a weird thing to mention, but the included instruction manual is surprisingly good. (That’s so rare with tech products!)
T-Mobile Home Internet: $50 per month flat rate and a $200 prepaid gift card for signing up
I’ve been a T-Mobile Home Internet subscriber for the better part of two years. I’m paying $50 monthly (no taxes or fees) for the modem and unlimited 5G service. Here in the outskirts of metro Detroit, I get a decent signal — certainly plenty fast for everyday working from home and nighttime 4K streaming.
I was especially overjoyed to bid goodbye to Comcast, which was charging considerably more. Just recently, in fact, my neighbors have been up in arms due to repeated Comcast internet outages, while I’ve been sailing along happily with T-Mo.
Want to try it yourself? Now’s the time: If you’re eligible for service in your area, you can get T-Mobile Home Internet for $50/month and a $200 prepaid Mastercard (after three months of paid service). That’s kind of like getting four months free.
Again, this has been great for me, but YMMV (your mileage may vary) depending on a number of factors. I should also note that I’m using an Eero mesh-network router to spread the Wi-Fi out around my house; the gateway itself doesn’t have a strong enough signal. But my daughter is using one in her apartment and it’s more than adequate, and same for my sister-in-law and mother-in-law. Again, YMMV.
Costco members: Get TWO Hisense 55-inch 4K TVs for $420 (or three for $580)
Got a Costco membership? Here’s your chance to scoop up a couple TVs on the cheap: For a limited time, Costco members can get two Hisense A65H 55-inch Google 4K TVs for $420. (That price appears when you add two to your cart.) That’s just $210 apiece; the best price elsewhere is $280 at Best Buy.
Want to get crazy? You can buy three and your price drops to just $193 apiece.
These are entry-level models in the Hisense lineup, but even entry-level TVs are pretty darn good these days. The A65H offers Dolby Vision, HDR10, Chromecast, three HDMI inputs and the Google TV operating system (including voice-powered Google Assistant).
Here’s the biggest win of all: When you buy this from Costco, you get a three-year warranty instead of the standard one year.

We tried Tmobile internet for a couple of months 3 yrs ago. For $50 it was a good deal with the claimed speeds they offer. However, I did a little more research and found that if I lived across the street Tmobile internet was not available, meaning we were on the edge of coverage. There were many times that it would be super fast, but other times when it dropped to a crawl where you couldn’t load a webpage. We finally gave up on it. Cox had a deal for $49.99 a month for 300gbps for two years, includes the modem, optional router. We signed up for that and haven’t looked back. We also have our own Netgear mesh network which spreads the WiFi around.
On the flip side we love tmobile cell coverage in our area which we get from Ryan Reynolds Mint Mobile. Such a deal for $15 a month! Nobody can beat that price!
Obviously your location and coverage will vary. :)
That is a crazy good deal on the Hisense 55" TV. But I can't justify it as I already have as many TVs as I can use.
