Happy Saturday, everyone! Today I’ll urge you to put your money where your bum is, because a heated bidet is one of those things you’ll never regret buying. Quite the opposite, in fact.
But first, a few quickie deals…
QUICK HITS
💵 If you’re an Amazon Prime subscriber and you don’t have an Amazon Prime Visa card, this is the time to sign up: You’ll get a $150 Amazon credit immediately upon approval. You’ll also get 5% back on all Amazon purchases made with that card — but sometimes 10% or even more. Plus there are lots of other cash-back perks, like 5% back on Whole Foods and travel purchases, 2% at gas stations, and so on. This is a no-annual-fee card, too, so there’s nothing but upside here.
📼 Love audiobooks? Right now Amazon is offering a 4-month Audible Premium Plus membership for $5.95 per month; it’s normally $14.95. That rate includes one book per month (yours to keep forever), plus original podcasts and other content, and discounts on any additional purchases. And there’s none of the usual “new customers only” language. Pretty sweet deal; just remember to cancel after four months to avoid full-price billing.
📺 Well, the cheap-TV party is officially over: Apple TV Plus will soon see an increase of over 40%, jumping to $10/month from $7. (Ironically, even with that hike, it’s still one of the cheapest streaming services out there.) As I’ve done a lot in recent months, I’ll continue to look for deals to help save you money on streaming. In the meantime, here’s another look at 30 movies you can watch totally free.
📞 Traveling internationally? The easiest way to stay connected is with an eSIM (assuming your phone supports that technology; it should if it’s relatively new). Just a few taps and, presto, you’re linked up to the local carrier. And it can be super-cheap, too: For a limited time, StackSocial is offering a $50 aloSIM lifetime credit for just $18.97. There are lots of data packages available; a 30-day, 3GB Europe plan would cost you just $13 of that credit, for example. I used something similar earlier this year and it was a breeze.
Bum’s the word! Grab this warm-water, heated-seat bidet for $170 (reg. $340)
A recent Washington Post story reminded me how much I love my bidet. I know, weird, but once you get accustomed to having one, it’s tough going back to a cold seat and toilet paper.
Want to, er, seat for yourself? For a limited time, SideDeal has the Brondell Omigo GS Bidet Toilet Seat for $170. It normally sells for $340; the lowest price on record at Amazon is $329.
Available for both round and elongated toilets (choose the style at checkout), the Omigo GS features an internal heated water tank, meaning you don’t have to suffer that momentary shock of ice-cold water in the bum. It also has a heated seat, crucial for surviving these winter months.
You also get a soft-closing lid, an LED night-light, multiple temperature and water-pressure settings, and so on. So this is definitely one of the fancier bidet seats out there, but at a really compelling price.
Just take note that this sucker’s electrical, meaning you’ll need an AC outlet near the throne or an extension cord — not exactly a great look in a bathroom. That’s the only thing I don’t like about my bidet, which, coincidentally, is a slightly different version of the Omigo. Three years in, it’s going strong.
And I wasn’t kidding: When I travel, I miss it. If that’s not love, what is?

Totally agree. Got our Luxe bidet during the pandemic and have talked them up to anyone interested and even some friends who weren't initially interested. Now I dread having to go when away from the house and wonder "How is everyone else fine using just toilet paper?" Ugh!
I'm sure heated is nice, but you get used to the cold water in a regular bidet. And save >$100. I love mine so much, I installed one before I moved into my new house and also installed one at my parents' house. Never had any trouble with my Luxes and it's only $33: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009ZLRSJ6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1
